Here at Wavi Coffee, every product we serve has a story behind it.

From the Origin coffee beans, to the indie bakes we stock and the small independent producers we champion, we believe that what we offer should taste exceptional and reflect the values we care about most: quality, sustainability, and supporting brilliant businesses here in the South West.

That is exactly why we are so proud to work with Exmoor Tea.

The Beginning of Our Relationship with Exmoor Tea

Our relationship with Exmoor Tea goes right back to the earliest days of Wavi Coffee.

Before our Land Rover coffee van was even out on the road and before we were serving coffee and tea at weddings, corporate events, and some of the South West’s best-loved festivals, we sat around our kitchen table with Rachel, one of the founders of Exmoor Tea.

Together, we taste-tested blend after blend, discussing flavour, provenance, and what makes a truly memorable cup of tea.

Even then, it was obvious that Exmoor Tea was something special.

The teas were beautifully balanced, full of character, and made with honest ingredients. Just as importantly, Rachel and her team cared deeply about the environment, about supporting their local community, and about creating a product they could be genuinely proud of.

The decision to serve Exmoor Tea at Wavi Coffee was an easy one.

A South West Tea Company with a Big Vision

When we caught up with the Exmoor Tea team earlier this year, we asked them how the business first came about.

Having worked in hospitality for many years, they were inspired by the incredible coffee roasters across the South West. While great coffee was becoming easier to find, they felt the same standard simply did not exist for tea.

They wanted customers to have that same experience of discovering a venue known for serving outstanding tea.

From that idea, Exmoor Tea Co was born.

Their mission was straightforward: to create premium teas with exceptional flavour while putting sustainability and environmental responsibility at the heart of everything they do.

Sustainability at the Heart of Every Cup

One of the reasons we love working with Exmoor Tea is that their environmental commitment is not an afterthought; it is woven into every aspect of the business.

All of their tea pyramids are completely plastic-free, and they are proud supporters of the Plastic Free Exmoor campaign.

Even more impressively, they donate 5p from every tea cube sold to the CareMoor Fund, run by Exmoor National Park Authority. This initiative supports community-led conservation and nature recovery projects across Exmoor National Park.

For a small independent business, that level of commitment is remarkable.

Why Their Tea Tastes So Good

Exmoor Tea’s dedication to quality begins at source.

The team works hard to ensure ingredients are obtained from organically accredited farms wherever possible. Aside from the environmental benefits, they believe that tea grown without intensive pesticides and fertilisers delivers a cleaner, fuller, and more distinctive flavour.

That attention to detail extends to their decaffeinated tea as well.

While many decaf teas are processed using chemicals, Exmoor Tea’s Devious Decaf uses a carbon dioxide (CO₂) method that preserves both flavour and the tea’s natural properties.

The result is a decaf tea that genuinely tastes like proper tea.

The Teas We Serve at Wavi Coffee

We are proud to serve four of Exmoor Tea’s most-loved blends:

* Breezy Breakfast

* Gorgeous Grey

* Groovy Green

* Moorish Mint

So when you find us at a festival if you are looking for a robust morning brew, a delicate citrus-infused cup, something fresh and cleansing, or a soothing mint tea after lunch, we're cofinfident we're carrying a blend to suit you.

And because these teas are crafted here in the South West, every cup supports another independent business doing things the right way.

A Favourite Brew from the Founders

When asked to choose a favourite tea, the Exmoor Tea team admitted it is almost impossible.

Their day usually starts with Breezy Breakfast, a rich and flavourful blend that sets them up for the morning. Later in the day, they often reach for herbal teas such as Luscious Lemongrass or Charming Chai, especially after muddy dog walks on Exmoor.

We think that paints a rather lovely picture.

Why Partnerships Like This Matter

Exmoor Tea told us that they love working with businesses whose values align with their own.

By collaborating with like-minded independents, they believe both businesses become stronger - supporting the local economy and making a greater positive impact together.

They also told us how happy it makes them that, through Wavi Coffee, their teas have been served at some of the South West’s most exciting festivals and events, introducing their blends to many customers who may not have discovered the brand otherwise.

That is exactly the kind of partnership we strive to build.

What’s Next for Exmoor Tea?

The team is always working on new ideas.

They are expanding their online shop to offer larger packs of tea, exploring subscription options, and developing more merchandise following the success of their popular winter beanies.

Knowing Rachel and the team, there is always something exciting brewing.

A Little-Known Fact

Before launching Exmoor Tea, the founders spent 14 years running The Bridge Inn in Dulverton.

After years in hospitality and countless pints poured, they now admit they prefer a tea brew to an alcoholic one. We can certainly understand that!

So... Why We Choose Exmoor Tea

We are passionate about creating a drinks experience that feels thoughtful and memorable - and whilst coffee may be in our name, but we know many of our customers are dedicated tea drinkers. They deserve a tea that is every bit as carefully sourced and expertly prepared as our coffee.

Exmoor Tea allows us to offer exactly that. Tea with provenance, integrity, and exceptional flavour. It is made by people we know and admire. And it reflects everything we believe in when it comes to supporting independent South West producers.

So next time you visit Wavi Coffee - whether at a wedding, a corporate event, or a festival - if tea is your drink of choice, you can be confident that your cup comes from one of the finest independent tea companies in the region.

And that is something we are incredibly proud to serve.
