All About the Coffee

What did we know about coffee when we started Wavi, well….we knew we loved coffee, and we knew we were so heart-felt passionate about Southwest food & drink that we wanted to be serving the ‘best of the best’ at festivals and events - but we really didn’t know where to start.

We did know that when it came to choosing a coffee partner, we had to choose carefully.  And we tasted, we explored and we thought we had a roaster lined up - and then about a week before we hit our first ever event, we joined a tasting & cupping workshop in the sunshine, on the beach at St Ives Food Festival, where we met Origin’s wholesale manager, Tom.

That workshop changed everything. We knew everything had to not just “be” right, but “feel” right - and suddenly this felt right. What we wanted to do, to curate, had to start with the coffee. Because it’s not just a drink to us; it’s a ritual, a craft, and the heart of everything we do.

We knew we wanted the very best. We wanted coffee that wasn’t just exceptional in flavour but also had a story, a purpose, and ethics we could stand behind. We knew we had to change our choice.

So why Origin Coffee Roasters?

Origin Coffee Roasters isn’t just another supplier — they’re pioneers in the coffee world. As one of the first UK roasters to achieve B Corp certification, Origin is committed to balancing purpose and profit. Their certification isn’t just a badge; it’s a promise that their coffee is sourced, roasted, and delivered with integrity. From supporting fair wages for farmers to ensuring sustainability throughout their supply chain, Origin is shaping the future of coffee with every cup.

For us at Wavi Coffee, choosing Origin was about more than just their accolades. It was about aligning with a partner who shares our values: quality, sustainability, and community. Their ethos resonates deeply with ours, and it’s now an honour to say that every cup we serve is crafted from beans roasted by their expert team.

What Makes the Coffee Special?

Origin Coffee Roasters is known for their meticulous attention to detail—from sourcing beans directly from farmers to their innovative roasting techniques. The result? Coffee that’s complex, vibrant, and utterly unforgettable. It’s the kind of coffee that makes you pause and savour the moment.

And for those wondering, our coffee is organic. That means no chemicals, no shortcuts — just pure, unadulterated flavour. It’s part of what makes our signature “Damn Good Coffee” tagline so fitting. Because it truly is.

Being Part of the Origin Family

Working with Origin Coffee Roasters feels like being part of something bigger. Their roots in Cornwall ground them in a sense of community that we deeply admire. Being part of their family means more than serving their coffee; it means championing their mission, from ethical sourcing to environmental sustainability.

We believe in building relationships — not just with our customers but with the people who make what we do possible. Collaborating with Origin means we’re not just serving exceptional coffee; we’re supporting a global network of farmers, roasters, and coffee lovers who care about making a difference.

In that week before our first ever event Tom dropped everything to help us bring the right blend on board, turning up when we didn’t have a working Land Rover - or more the power to the coffee machine in place yet and just made it happen.  Something that will forever be important in what we do with the Origin team.

A Cup Worth Celebrating

So, the next time you visit us at an event or a festival and take that first sip, know there’s a story (or two!) behind every cup. It’s a story of passion, partnership, and purpose. It’s a story that started with a feeling, and a welcome that felt like it just fit - and ends with you enjoying what we coffee snobs proudly call “Damn Good Coffee.”

Wavi Coffee can be found at events and festivals across the Southwest of the UK each summer season from April to October. Check out our Events page to find us and try a damn good coffee for yourself!
